In a ruling yesterday, a NY judge decided that social media companies can be sued for their part in radicalizing people who carry out violent acts. This would be a significant turn of events in reference to the way that social media platforms have allowed hateful conduct to continue even after it has been shown to influence people’s behavior. For example, Libs of TikTok has incited threats and harassment against at least 41 entities, including 23 schools.
